“IBS” – Bloody Diarrhea and Constipation
“Yvette” was a 46 year old female teacher who was seen for 12 visits and successfully treated for pain in both knees diagnosed as psoriatic arthritis. At her last two visits, she complained of cramping with alternating constipation and diarrhea and blood in the stool. Laser therapy was administered over the abdomen. Cramping and bleeding rapidly resolved and has not reoccurred 3 years later.
“Stephanie” was an 84 year old female who came with diarrhea and abdominal cramping x 3 days. She was treated with laser therapy over the lower abdomen x two visits, three days apart, with complete relief of discomfort each time. She was also instructed to take cooked white rice with apple sauce, anti-diarrheal tea, probiotics and water. She reported that elimination had normalized by the second visit.
Note: As diarrhea rapidly depletes vital energy, water and minerals – and the ability to fully absorb many nutrients for several days – it should never be allowed to persist. See Treatment of Acute Diarrhea.
Reflux / Abdominal Pain / Hiatal Hernia
“Kathy”, a 52 year old female diagnosed two years earlier with gastroesophageal reflux and a hiatal hernia, was seen in acute abdominal pain shortly after a meal. She reported she had eaten too much, too quickly and washed it down with several beers. Laser therapy and acupuncture were administered, and she reported all pain and discomfort was immediately alleviated. She was seen twice on follow-up and has reported significant reductions in frequency and severity of reflux and pain, 2 years later. She also reports she has reduced the volume of meals and slowed her eating.
MC, a 47 year old female was diagnosed with gallstones when she visited the emergency room the weekend prior to her first laser treatment. Surgery to remove her gallbladder had been recommended. She came to us seeking a second opinion and rated her pain 4 on a zero to ten scale over the right and left upper quadrants on. (Although gallbladder pain is usually on the right side, it can also frequently refer to the left). MC scored her pain at zero after her first treatment. She was treated on two more occasions. One year later she reported that, other than an occasional twinge usually associated with fatty foods, she is pain free and delighted to have avoided surgery. She stayed with an herbal protocol to help emulsify stones for several months after treatment and has made positive changes in diet and lifestyle and still owns a gallbladder one year later.
Gallbladder Pain – Pancreatitis
“Andrea”, a tall, heavy, 55 year old female, was hospitalized for intense abdominal pain diagnosed as gallbladder inflammation with gallstones. Laser therapy alleviated the pain, and she followed a healthy diet and remained symptom free for approximately 2 months. After a second painful episode following a high fat meal, she elected to have her gallbladder removed. She returned several months later again for treatment for abdominal pain diagnosed as pancreatitis. This was also successfully resolved following laser and electromagnetic field therapies. She has since adopted a healthier diet and lost 60 pounds.
Elevated Liver Enzymes
“Mike” was a 58 year old accountant being treated for back and hip pain who mentioned that his liver enzymes had been elevated for many years. Laser therapy was given over the liver approximately every two weeks x 3. Patient also took freshly ground milkthistle seeds daily. Three months later his liver enzymes were normal.
“Maxine” was a 41 year old female with ulcerative colitis and a vaginal fistula who was also experiencing migraine headaches, poor appetite and loss of sensation in her toes. She was seen for 8 visits and treated with laser therapy directly to the fistula, over the abdomen, over the left neck and temple for headaches and to her toes. She reported immediate relief of abdominal discomfort to the area of the fistula after the first session. By the 8th treatment, the fistula had healed. She also reported digestion had improved, sensation in her toes was better and frequency and severity of migraines had decreased.
Digestive Pain / Ulcerative Colitis
“Gloria”, a 24 year old female, complained of severe, intermittent digestive pain, stress and blood in the stool and noted that she had been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in Argentina. She was seen for 5 treatments, and pain, when present, was completely alleviated following laser therapy.
